Located on Nob Hill and adjacent to the Ritz Carlton Hotel, this eight story steel frame condominium tower was built on top of the Stockton Street Tunnel, next to the California Street Cable Car Line. Working on a steep hill in an area of major traffic congestion, many intricate construction techniques were employed. The building totaled +/-18,000 square feet and included a two-story, partially underground parking garage. The moment frame structure was built as owner/builder and carries a construction class designation of Type 2, FR (fire resistant). The building utilized an engineered sound attenuation system, as well as a fire-rated window framing/clear glass system with fire sprinklers. The San Francisco Chronicle praised the building as a “gem”, with remarkable construction detail. (See Press for more information.)
